MARY
BETH'S HOPE
When Alice's Breakfast in the Park closes after Labor Day of this
year, Mary Beth's hopes are to find an established bakery where
she can use her talents and delicious recipes to continue her love
of baking.

"Not arguably! Those (cinnamon rolls) absolutely are the best
in the world. I teach at HBHS and years ago I would take students
out onto the pier to study waves, water, wildlife, plankton, etc.
On occasion, John Gustafson would bring out some hot cinnamon rolls.
Those rolls along with hot chocolate made my day. I cannot tell
you what a loss the End Cafe was (I still have the old menu framed
at home) and what a loss Breakfast in the Park will be to this community.
I was there when the End Cafe floated away and sank. So did my heart!
I ate my rolls at End Cafe and Breakfast in the Park. I had my old
65 "BUG" serviced at Gustafson's in the 70's and now I
would not take my car anywhere else. Your family has run businesses
as they should be run and we are lucky to have you in Huntington
Beach. You are the classic "Family Business" family and
I salute you! I have been teaching at HBHS for 35 years and retire
next year. I find it a bit ironic that my career (and it has been
a great one for me) ends in the same year as Breakfast in the Park.
I wish you the best in your retirement. You have served this community
well!! Respectfully, Breck Nichols, Biology Teacher, HBHS
